Description
This photo won first place on Fred Miranda's monthly competition. This was the first time I came across this house. While driving to another location for a fashion shoot we decided on a whim to pull into Salton Sea Beach. I'm glad we did. We did the whole shoot at this location instead. The inlet that flooded the house was at it's deepest. Unfortunately it has long since dried up. The evening was windless and the reflection perfect. I used my jeep's headlights to light the structure and then color balanced to tungsten which is what gives the sky and water the incredible blue, yet keeps the wood warm looking.

This is stunning. I've enjoyed reading about how you lit the structure too. Beautiful work. v/f

It's fun to have those happy accidents. I actually have several shoots at the Salton Sea where the best lighting came from my jeep. The tungsten it produces is very yellow compared to the ambient and gives great effect. Thanks for reading the description. I think this was the same calm day as the old pilings... not sure.
