Description
These are some of the same pilings as in the other pictures in my site where just the tops of them are showing. The Satlon Sea has dried up significantly in 5-6 years. While these create a beautiful serine scene, the implications of the drying sea bed being exposed mean that the area will suffer catastrophic dust storms with agricultural and waste run off dusts clogging the air. There are many plans to try and save the Salton Sea, however, they all cost many billions of US dollars. Sadly, it's not likely that we'll see any kind of change before it's too late. So I view my job to help the Salton Sea and it's communities as capturing the hope that was, the hope that still is and the beauty that exists today.
