This is a close up of a MASSIVE strawberry tart "pie" made by the French pastry chef Jerome Diopat Andalusia Country Club at Coral Mountain in La Quinta, California. He handpicked the strawberries and yes it tasted amazing. He actually made two of them. And they were for an outdoor Easter celebration. The blue you see in the glazing is the reflection of the blue sky above. I would guess they were close to a meter in diameter. I was fortunate enough to shoot a number of events at the country club where he made deserts and I have to say, ALL of his deserts, mostly pastry, but ALL of them were the best versions of their styles that I'd ever tasted. The guy was a magician (a skill or technology so advanced or unknown that the viewer cannot comprehend how the end result was accomplished and thus magic.) I'm posting these two images simply because I thought the patterns and colors are so simple and beautiful.
