Artist's Description
This series of floral shots won an award for a themed competition titled "Gas Station". The bee is a standard honey bee, the flower is called a mountain daisy and grows in the high desert and chaparral areas of the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains. I took some time to give these a painterly effect. It works. What's sad, is that since this shot taken in 2006, I haven't seen high mountain daisies blooming or bees pollenating.
